Endosonography of the stomach and esophagus (ร–GD)

Endosonography of the respiratory tract (endobronchial ultrasound)

The endosonography of the respiratory tract is similar to that of the gastrointestinal tract, the doctor leads the endoscope only in the trachea instead of the esophagus. In addition to the respiratory tract itself, it can also assess the lymph nodes located near the trachea or the large bronchi, which is particularly important in cases of suspected cancer. The advantage of transvaginal endoscopy compared to conventional abdominal wall ultrasound examination is that it provides better images due to its proximity to the organs. In addition, the transvaginal ultrasound examination as well as the conventional ultrasound on the abdominal wall poses no special risks and is only a little uncomfortable, but not painful for the patient.
